Our refrigerated rental trailers are compact, towable units specifically designed for food service applications. They offer a convenient, walk-in solution for keeping your perishables cold, whether you're catering an event, handling overflow storage, or facing an emergency.
No—our rental units are not the large diesel-powered "reefer" trailers typically used for long-haul trucking or dock-height distribution.
Instead, our trailers:
- Are walk-in height and width (not dock-height)
- Have door dimensions that will not accommodate a pallet
- Are typically hand-loaded
- Are equipped with shelving on both sides for organized product storage
- Have been designed for short-term, on-site use.
No, we don’t have refrigerated cargo vans. Our refrigerated trailers are bumper pull trailers. We deliver them to your site with a pickup truck and are meant to be stationary while connected to your shore power. They provide a great temporary refrigerated system solution at your site.
Each trailer uses a closed-loop refrigeration system powered by shore power, similar to an RV or camping trailer. They run on clean, steady electricity provided by your facility.

Yes! We offer refrigerated trailers for sale and can customize a solution to fit your specific needs. In addition, we regularly rotate our rental fleet, which means we often have well‑maintained, late‑model refrigerated trailers available for purchase. This gives you flexible options whether you’re looking for a brand‑new unit or a cost‑effective fleet upgrade.
Rentals / Office: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Rentals are scheduled by the week. A signed Rental Agreement is required.
Included Services:
Our Crosstown Mechanical Operations Team will deliver to your site, level, start-up, and verify proper operation.
We deliver anywhere in Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
Power Requirements:
- Must connect to clean building power
- No generators permitted
- Power source must be in place before delivery
Security Provided:
- Door lock + tongue lock
- Customer responsible for preventing theft/vandalism
Our Policy:
- No customer pickup or relocation of trailers
- Trailers must be returned clean (cleaning fee applies if not)
Crosstown Mechanical does not offer warranty coverage or reimbursement for product loss resulting from equipment failure, even in cases where we have provided a rental. Mechanical systems can and do break down—so it’s essential to regularly monitor temperatures. Once we find out more about your needs, we will provide an invoice for the equipment rental. Upon verification of payment, we book your equipment rental and date(s)
Important Considerations:
We do not allow our trailers to be picked up or moved by our customers
We do not allow hard wiring or modifications to our cords or plugs
Trailers are delivered clean and sanitized. They must be cleaned prior to pick up or a $200 cleaning fee will apply
Damage Policy
Loss and Damage: To the extent permitted by law, the Lessee will be responsible for risk of loss, theft, damage or destruction to the Equipment from any and every cause. Personal Property : The Equipment is the property of the Lender and will remain the property of the Lender . The Lessor is not responsible for Lessee’s contained personal, business or other stored product in any manner due to mechanical failures, fire, flood or other disasters that may occur.
Crosstown Mechanical will not be held liable for personal injury in and around our systems it is the responsibility of the lessee to be sure users are properly trained. Only authorized parties are allowed to operate this equipment.
